Yakun Zhang

My lab focuses on integrating field observations, proximal and remote sensing, and modeling to study soil and landscape relationship and critical zone properties and processes across scales. Through these activities, we aim to 1) improve assessment and monitoring capacity of soil properties and ecosystem services, 2) advance our fundamental understanding of the interactions between soil, plant, and natural and human factors, 3) use big data analytics to produce digital maps for land management and precision agriculture, and 4) provide nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
